ABOUT ME

I was born and grew up in New Zealand, finished studying for my B.A. in English and Classics at the end of 2009, and have now moved to Germany to continue studying. I have been living in Germany since February this year, and can't wait to take advantage of the traveling experiences that being on this side of the world offers!
I would say that at the moment studying is at the centre of my life - the world of literature is the world in which I choose to live - but people and seeing more of the world are equally important to me!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe very strongly in vegetarianism, and treating the animals with whom we are lucky enough to share this world with respect and equality. It goes without saying that I apply that to fellow human beings as well!
Beyond that, every new experience that I have seems to add to my personal 'philosophy', so am hoping it will continue to develop healthily, but therefore cannot put anything more concrete into words at present.

Music, Movies, and Books

Far too many to list here, but I like to try out a bit of everything rather than fixing my likes/dislikes in one particular sphere.
Movie-wise I'm fairly easily entertained (I'll leave that to others to interpret as either positive or negative), but I love movies that leave an impression, challenge and promote discussion.
The latter part goes for books as well. I love that studying literature means being introduced to such a wide range of authors/themes/cultures/characters.
And as for music, just anything that gives me pleasure to listen to...well, almost anything, but I love being introduced to new music and know fairly quickly if it's something that I'll choose to listen to myself.
