Overview
About Me
I am a researcher, musician, and nature lover. Enjoying the simple things in life and sharing what I can along the way.
IMPORTANT: Find me on bewelcome (https://www.bewelcome.org/members/klimahobbit) if you're looking for a place to stay in Mannheim :) I DON'T use Couchsurfing for hosting because I don't see the point of paying a fee for hosting.
So if I am not responding to your message on Couchsurfing its likely because my subscription has expired. Do find me on bewelcome, it's free! https://www.bewelcome.org/members/klimahobbit
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Originally I came to Couchsurfing because I was very young and very broke and still wanted to travel haha. Now I am a proper adult with a job and after switching to more traditional accommodations during COVID to keep social distance, I found myself feeling super isolated in almost sterile touristic bubbles and I hated that.
Now I am back to Couchsurfing because nothing beats the feeling of staying with a friend I haven't met yet in a foreign place who can give me an authentic glimpse into the life in the place I am visiting. I have also started hosting (mostly on bewelcome, find me https://www.bewelcome.org/members/klimahobbit) and it's been an absolute pleasure. I love people who share their stories with me and enjoy getting to know my city :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music like classical music, hard rock, acoustic music, alternative. I can get into any genre, it really depends on my mood.
My favorite book at the moment is "The Humans" by Matt Haig. I don't watch movies frequently, but I do like some TV shows like Parks and Recreation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2016 I went on a tour with my accordion orchestra to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. We had the amazing opportunity to bring our music to people who had less than we could ever imagine and still had bigger hearts than I had ever seen. Seeing the smile on their faces or hearing their cheerful voice was very fulfilling. We played 20 concerts and had the great opportunity to meet many inspiring people and get to know a country with an incomparable natural heritage. It's an experience that I am immensely grateful for and will never forget.
