Overview
About Me
I'm enthusiastic, humorous, and sometimes blindly optimistic. I enjoy spending time observing the natural world and exposing my self to new cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hosting: Traveling in the U.S. can be expensive, lack hospitality, and the locations of many accommodations are detached from the local community. I want to help people live like a local, see the sites, and acquire a sense of place.
Surf: Meet new people and get an inside look of the local community.
Interests
Hiking, kayaking, wildlife viewing, snorkeling, SCUBA, comedy, guitar, dancing: latin, swing, and blues.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Deep appreciation of anything instrumental including jazz, bluegrass, folk, big band, rock etc. I'm not much into metal.
Movies: Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Star Trek, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Batman, Matrix, Wes Anderson films and countless other flicks.
Books: Fantasy, Scifi, scientific non-fiction. LOTR, Dresden Files, E.O. Wilson's books, Name of the Wind, Wise Mans Fear, and tons more. (looking for recommendations).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Assisted in capturing an adult male King Cobra!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in anything science; the majority of knowledge lies within biology and ecology. I also enjoy various types of dancing including latin, country swing and east-coast swing.
I'm learning guitar and Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Like most... I can share stories of my shenanigans. The majority of my travel has been academic based to gain experience within the field of ecology.
My cooking usually rely's on recipes, however on the contrary I'm more than capable of putting together a meal from whatever is in the fridge.
