Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Ishai from Berlin. I studied history and political science, but somehow ended up as an IT project manager—because life loves plot twists. Despite my career detour, I’m still deeply passionate about history, languages, art and culture.
I’m open-minded and endlessly curious. I love getting lost in a good book, a good film, or sometimes a terribly bad movie (the worse the better, honestly). I’m also a vegan cook (and will cook for you if you like), an enthusiastic traveler, a windsurfer (on days when I feel brave), and a player of both the trumpet and ukulele (yes, I’ll serenade you). Oh, and cats. I love cats. I’d trade everything I just mentioned for cats. Actually, scratch that—I’d trade you for cats.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m looking to meet new and interesting people to share cultural knowledge, perspectives, and hopefully some laughs along the way.
Interests
I’m endlessly fascinated by people and everything they bring along with them—life experiences, stories, knowledge, history, architecture, food, art, sports, and whatever else makes them tick.
I love stories in all forms: novels, short stories, films, TV series, songs, or even a stranger ranting on the subway—I’ll take it. It doesn’t have to be good, just authentic and original.
In the real world, I enjoy windsurfing, playing music (with enthusiasm, not skill), singing, hiking, wandering cities aimlessly and cooking.
And cats. Did I mention cats?

Music, Movies, and Books
I‘m fascinated by texts and stories, so all forms of storytelling are accepted: written, filmed, composed, acted. I give each one and each genre a chance to blow my mind.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Becoming vegan in 2011 changed my life, made me healthier, thinner and in better shape, happier, and opened a whole new culinary world for me, which I still enjoy.
Teach, Learn, Share
Would love to share life stories, recipes, making musik together and learn each other’s languages.
