About Me

I consider myself as an independent person.
I like to observe life carefully and not to be too judgmental , enjoying the thin balance between observing and participating.
Though I am a city person I care for the enviroment and love nature!
While traveling I find interest in getting a notion about the country from locals.

A main part of my identity is being a photographer.
I'm using an analog camera(35mm Leica) mostly with black and white films. As a photographer I'm making my way in the art world, participating in exhibitions in my country and abroad.
nevertheless I use digital cameras and my cellular like a normal person :)

Between 2002-2006 I was studying and living (photography and art) in Jerusalem. since then I'm living in Tel aviv, and traveling any chance I get;)
at the last few years mostly in different parts of Europe.

Lately I am learning to appreciate again parts of my country, like the 'Negev' in the south and the 'Golan heights' in the north.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While traveling in Scandinavia and Germany (end of 2011-begining of 2012) most hosts welcomed me warmly, opened there houses to me and offered me useful information. I'm thankful for all of them! with some of them I keep in touch through facebook.
indeed I was lucky enough to know really intersting people some with great passion for traveling.
There were also situations when my host were bussy but were kind enough to trust and be kind and helpfull.. This kind of situations are just fine as I am an independent person and can explore around by myself.

In all find this way of traveling enriching in many espects.

While hosting in Tel aviv I try to show my guests parts of the city they may not found for themselves in a short stay.

I'll try to summarize, guided by random associations :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Two of my favorites directors are Federico Fellinni and David Lynch.
others worth mentioning- Stanley Kubrick, Paul Thomas Anderson, The Cohen Brothers, Pedro Almodóvar, Ingmar Bergman, Luchino Visconti, Aki Kaurismäki, Lars von trier. Jean-Luc Godard.
and I'm still making an effort to see a good movie in the cinema!

About music: well, music is so essential in my everyday life routine.
I grew up on the Beatles and Pink Floyd.. Rock and Folk, Jazz and Blues.
I listen to classic music as well sometimes, preferably in live performance.

I'm really open minded to almost any sort of music. I like Latin music as well.
Some musicians that I can mention: Tom Waits, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Bjork, Caetano Veloso, P.J.Harvey, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Amy Winehouse, Nina Simon!!

For books I need to be in a special mood. the last book I recently read and liked was- Berlin Alexanderplatz- a novel by Alfred Döblin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

why one?
Witnessing the amazing big blue whale in Ecuador.
The Baobab trees in Africa.
few of my favorite cities: Hanoi, Havana, Athens, Berlin, Manhattan, Reykjavik..

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn everything which is offered to me by people I meet.
meanwhile I teach myself while experiencing life.

People ask me to teach them about photography.. actually its more interesting to let them notice things that have potential of being a good photo, relating to the light at a specific moment, how you arrange things in your frame etc.
Another aspect about photography is that the lens always "see" or captures more then we do, and there is almost always something unpredictable.
