About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Whether fate or destiny really exist, the only thing I can do is enjoy the present and live as honorably as possible."

ABOUT ME

An English translation of the below poem...
The Earth Turned to Bring Us Closer by Eugenio Montejo

The earth turned to bring us closer,
it spun on itself and within us,
and finally joined us together in this dream
as written in the Symposium.
Nights passed by, snowfalls and solstices;
time passed in minutes and millennia.
An ox cart that was on its way to Nineveh
arrived in Nebraska.
A rooster was singing some distance from the world,
in one of the thousand pre–lives of our fathers.
The earth was spinning with its music
carrying us on board;
it didn't stop turning a single moment
as if so much love, so much that's miraculous
was only an adagio written long ago
in the Symposium’s score.

"La Tierra Giró para Acercarnos" by Eugenio Montejo
La tierra giró para acercarnos,
giró sobre sí misma y en nosotros,
hasta juntarnos por fin en este sueño,
como fue escrito en el Simposio.
Pasaron noches, nieves y solsticios;
pasó el tiempo en minutos y milenios.
Una carreta que iba para Nínive
llegó a Nebraska.
Un gallo cantó lejos del mundo,
en la previda a menos mil de nuestros padres.
La tierra giró musicalmente
llevándonos a bordo;
no cesó de girar un solo instante,
como si tanto amor, tanto milagro
sólo fuera un adagio hace mucho ya escrito
entre las partituras del Simposio.

PHILOSOPHY

wow...where to begin...I would have to say I kinda believe in the thinking behind Deism.

I am sure I will get around to filling this out one day, but until then I can sum it up with this quote:

"What I see in Nature is a magnificent structure that we can comprehend only very imperfectly, and that must fill a thinking person with a feeling of “humility.” This is a genuinely religious feeling that has nothing to do with mysticism." - Albert Einstein

Teach, Learn, Share

The best I can do is share quotes I have come across over the years that I think are good to live by...so here ya go:

-"Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something."-Kurt Vonnegut

"What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do." - John Ruskin

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it” - Voltaire

"Most men pursue pleasure with such breathless haste that they hurry past it." - Soren Kierkegaard

"A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself." - Jim Morrison

"To pretend to know when you do not know is a disease" -Lao Tzo (Taoist Philosopher)

"People do not wish to appear foolish; to avoid the appearance of foolishness, they are willing to remain actually fools." - Alice Walker

"Flow with whatever may happen and let your mind be free: Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate." -Chuang Tzo (Taoist Philosopher)

"There is nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Student of Zen-Buddhism and the Samurai W

"We are afraid of the known and afraid of the unknown. That is our daily life and in that there is no hope, and therefore every form of philosophy, every form of theological concept, is merely an escape from the actual reality of what is. All outward forms of change brought about by wars, revolutions, reformations, laws and ideologies have failed completely to change the basic nature of man and therefore of society." - Thomas Jefferson

"I said, why walk alone? Why worry when it's warm over
here? You've got so much to say, say what you mean, mean what you're thinking, and think anything...Oh why,
why must you waste you're life away, you've got to live for today, then let it go" - cat stevens

(I like this one a lot)"It does not matter that only a few in each generation will grasp and achieve the full reality of man's proper stature--and that the rest will betray it. It is those few that move the world and give life its meaning--and it is those few that I have always sought to address. The rest are no concern of mine; it is not me that they will betray; it is their own souls."- Ayn Rand

"There is no certainty – only opportunity." - unknown

And finally:

"Living in the moment requires not taking anything for granted." - me (though based on Tao teachings)
