About Me
🌍 Kinshasa Local Guide | Cultural Navigator | Translator 🇨🇩
Born in Kalemie, raised in Kenya, now based long-term in Kinshasa.
I’m passionate about cultures, human connection, and experiencing the world through people and places.
As part of my long-term goal of traveling across different countries, I currently work with visitors coming to Kinshasa who want a smoother and more authentic experience of the city.
Kinshasa is an incredible place — but it can also be complex if you don’t understand how things work locally.
While temporarily unable to host guests right now, I offer local guiding support for travelers.
• Navigate Kinshasa with local insight
• Communicate easily (translation support)
• Avoid common mistakes & confusion
• Discover places most visitors never see
• Understand the rhythm and culture of the city
You handle transport & accommodation.
I value respect, boundaries, curiosity, and meaningful exchanges.
Good conversations are always welcome.
Kinshasa changes completely when you experience it with local understanding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, it’s about exchanging experiences, cultures, and ideas that make the world feel smaller and more welcoming.
Some of life’s best memories come from spontaneous conversations, shared meals, and the friendships we never saw coming.
I believe that when we open our doors and our minds we break down barriers and make even the biggest challenges feel more attainable.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, movies, and books are more than entertainment to me they shape perspectives, spark emotions, and inspire my actions. I enjoy soulful and thought-provoking music, from classic jazz to modern Afrobeat.
When it comes to movies, I’m drawn to compelling storytelling, whether it's real-life event action movies, documentaries, docuseries, or real-life historical movies.
As for books, I appreciate works that challenge the mind and fuel ambition entrepreneurial insights, personal development, sales books, marketing-related books, and narratives that redefine possibilities.
Each of these influences my journey, creativity, and outlook on life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most incredible things I’ve done was to refuse to accept a life of mediocrity. Growing up in a refugee camp, every aspect of my life was monitored what I ate, drank, and did was under constant surveillance.
I had no real identity, no freedom, just existence. But I knew I was meant for more.
At 17, with nothing in my pocket but determination and a heart full of dreams, I left the camp and stepped into the unknown, heading to Nairobi, Kenya. The only connection I had was with a hospital that needed a website.
That single opportunity became my turning point. I ended up volunteering at a birth center, trading my skills for a place to sleep and food. It wasn’t easy, but for the first time, I felt a sense of purpose and control over my life and future.
That leap of faith shaped the person I am today resilient and unafraid to chase what i'm passionate about.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am eager to share my knowledge and learn from others. I can teach digital skills, business growth strategies, and insights on navigating different cultures.
I am also interested in learning new languages, exploring diverse cuisines, and understanding various traditions and histories.
Most importantly, sharing meaningful conversations, travel stories, and the joy of cultural connections.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest, I believe in meaningful exchanges beyond just a place to stay. I can share stories from my travels across Africa, insights into different cultures, and personal experiences from my journey of resilience and entrepreneurship.
I’m also happy to help with anything digital whether it’s tech advice, online marketing tips, or business insights. And of course, I’d love to cook a meal from my culture, engage in deep conversations, and create unforgettable memories with my hosts.
