About Me

Former nuclear physicist turned programmer for a lot of reasons, but paygrade, atmosphere and freedom especially.
When I had control over the music I could listen I started with metal, Disturbed in particular. Now I listen to many metal bands mainly, but if I like how something sounds I will not refuse it (especially video game sound tracks, nowadays they do them amazingly).
About the food I enjoy, as any man, steaks, fries, pizza sweets, ice cream (even during winter, as it does not melt), but I am open to new foods. I started to enjoy milkshakes a lot, and would share them with guests.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, metals, classical, even some pop.
Movies: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Cloud Atlas, The Man from Earth, but Pacific Rim is my favorite. That movie is simply great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nuclear bombardment of various materials deposited on silicon substrate. Sounds amazing, especially the nuclear bombardment part. Not so amazing in reality though. Even less when processing the data.

Teach, Learn, Share

The eyes just photograph our whereabouts, it is the brain that processes the signals, fills in gaps and expectations and creates the visual sensation, the sight. That is why if one is blind for a period of their life, then gains sight, they will see foggy images for some time while their brain gathers a database of pictures.
Also, the images the eyes create on the retina are inverted, and the brain corrects that. Once some scientists gave to students glasses that would invert the image, and told them to never take them off. After a period of time the students' brains got used to the said glasses, and inverted the images again. After the experiment ended they took the glasses off, and their fun started again (I did not check that tbh, but I gave it some thought, and seems plausible).
And this is the only explanation I found for the way girls take pictures in groups, holding their phones tilted.
*flies away*
