I am an optical engineer and formerly a researcher in biomedical optics and related fields. I have lived and worked in Russia, Japan and Scotland, and now I live in France. I enjoy learning languages, notably Japanese and Chinese, and I have also just started learning Korean.

I like singing and playing music, hiking, and joking around. I do love stupid puns and dad jokes, but hey - nobody is perfect.
