About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm starting a trip to South America soon.
I want to travel along the east coast of Brazil, the Amazon, explore the Andes and pass through the Atacama.
I also would like to explore the cities of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay again. I'll start the trip at the end of October and it should last until mid-March.

ABOUT ME

I was a professional tennis player and coach in the mentioned sport, then I wanted to start something new and I have been in business in the field of tourism for over 10 years, and also I am a collector of art by contemporary Croatian artists. I enjoy reading poetry and prose, philosophical education, hiking and year-round swimming (especially in winter), music (mostly jazz and classical), art and independent films, meeting interesting people and having meaningful conversations.

PHILOSOPHY

Change is essential in order not to fall asleep in everyday life and live life almost entirely predictably cocooned in the safety of the familiar.
I prefer to travel spontaneously and with conversations with locals and by reading to find out as much as possible about the destinations I visit.
Immerse myself in everyday city life, explore the history, culture and traditions of the places where I stay.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out for CS many years ago while I'd been travelling with friends.
I don't think there is any other app that can connect the traveler and the host in such a good way and improve the trip itself and refresh everyday life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had no negative experiences, many were interesting and some were excellent!

Interests

Balance in my own life is important to me; enough time to spend in nature, socializing with friends, consuming sports, culture and philosophy.
Ethics should be a very important factor in the life, which is short and uncertain, and it is imperative for me to live a good life towards others and learn from my own mistakes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Traffic, Amarcord, Godfather I and II, Taxi driver, Pulp fiction, Bicycles thieves, Habla con ella, Last tango in Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Dr. Zhivago, American beauty, Departed, China town, 8 1/2, Persona, Breathless, Nebraska, Lisice, the Kid, Citizen Kane, Vertigo, Taste of Cherry, Seventh Seal, Fargo, Tko pjeva zlo ne misli.

Music is a very important factor in my life.
I am curious and like to explore different genres, travel the musical globe.
I enjoy jazz (hot, cool, bebop, hard bop, fusion, free), classical (baroque, classicism, romanticism, impressionism, modernism), blues, soul, rock (prog., art, glam, hard), gamelan, kavali , folk, Dalmatian klape, punk, gospel, bossa nova and Cuban music.

Music: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Queen, Led Zepellin, Arsen Dedić, Beethoven, Mozart, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Nina Simone, Buena Vista Social Club, Deep Purple, ABBA.

Unbearable lightness of being by Milan Kundera, 100 years of solitude by G.G.Marquez, Stranger by A. Camus, Heart of darkness by J. Conrad, War & Peace by Tolstoy, Crime & Punishment by Dostoevsky, Madame Bovary by G. Flaubert, Cosmos by Carl Sagan.
