Me and my friend live in an Ecovillage near the town of La Vega, Dominican Republic.

The Ecovillage's name is Eco Aldea Casa Verde (the Ig of the Ecovillage is @ecoaldeacasaverde ), we have fruit and spices trees, & a nearby river less than 3 minutes away on foot (private access from the same property).

More often during the weekends, there are people who come to relax, camp, enjoy nature, go to the river, etc. from all across the country, and sometimes foreigners.

We host parties almost once a month that you can enjoy if you happen to be here.

We are located in the route La Vega-Jarabacoa, and for that reason there are many businesses across the street from the entrance, such as conveniece stores, pharmacy, lottery shops where you can charge your phone's SIM card from Dominican telecommunication companies like Claro, Altice, etc., fried chicken, a pool bar and more.

There is a Taxi Driver who lives nearby if you need any transportation to come here or leave.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking for volunteers who can help us with the house and farm shores.

Shores are not difficult, we do regular house shores, like swiping, mopping, feeding the pets, cleaning the backyard and front yard, watering the plants, etc.

Shores are not done every day, we usually do one or two shores per day, so that volunteers can relax, go to the river, visit nearby cities, etc. Shores are done during week days.

If we have guests, you can chill with them and chat, we want you to enjoy your stay.

Interests

We have 4 dogs (Frangelico, Tita, Concon and Bogil), and 4 cats (Donghae, Minah, Mini and Mia).

We used to have chickens but the owner of the Ecovillage sold them.

We went to see Jungle live twice (Isle of Light 2022 and Corona Sunsets Festival 2023) in Santo Domingo.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are interested in cultural exchange with our guests, we want to share the Dominican culture, authentic Dominican cuisine, and costumes. We can also help you out with Spanish conversation.

If you are interested in learning about the North region of the Dominican Republic, we are located less than 20 mins away from the city of La Vega, where you can enjoy the Dominican carnival during the month of February (on Sundays and February 27th).

We are also close by the cities of Jarabacoa, Santiago De Los Caballeros, Moca & Puerto Plata. We can guide you to get to any of them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a shared bedroom for volunteers with twin beds, we have 2 full bathrooms for everybody to use (1st and 2nd floor), laundry area, kitchen with refrigerator, stove and pantry.

You can cook outside with firewood, we have a campfire to enjoy that can be used at any time, electricity and running water.

Since we have to cook every day, we will share 3 meals per day with volunteers.
