I'll be honest, boredom is what drives me in life. It's what makes me go out and look for new people, new experiences. I love the fact how the world is so small, but a single town with all its people I could never fully explore.

I have spent the last ten years learning in academia and building my career. Now I am switching to more of a nomadic lifestyle. Not that those are mutually exclusive, it's just how one sets their priorities.
I want to see as much of the planet and meet as much of its inhabitants as I possibly can.

In my travels so far I have mostly stayed in hotels and apartments. While I do appreciate the privacy, it is also so incredibly boring. I believe it's time to spice things up and create opportunities to have some interesting experiences.

What I like most about Couchsurfing is getting to know locals. I never really liked doing the generic touristy things.

... and all the cash I save on not paying the accommodation business I can spend on creating actual memories with fun people. 😉

I love music that is upbeat and creates emotions. It needs to be either uplifting or bittersweet.
Some example genres would be indie (Tom Rosenthal, Mumford & Sons, Rise Against), soft rock (Phil Collins, Joe Cocker, Paul Simon), alternative metal (Disturbed, 5FDP), dance music from a couple decades back (Erasure), and so on. Yes, please, send me all of your angry messages on how I mislabeled genres on all these. 😘

Not that picky about movies – mostly pointless action films, animation (I'm a child inside), comedies with a story and musicals. Will watch (almost) anything once.

I have neglecting my reading in the past years so much I am ashamed. These days I am mostly into short stories, favourite genres being scifi and horror. As for books, it is mostly non-fiction (astrophysics, business, psychology, memoirs), although there a few fantasy/scifi classics in my queue as well.

I'd say of what I am most proud are the years I spend with the science department of the largest university in my country promoting networking, knowledge sharing and quality of education. I volunteered my time with a number of student and public organisations to help them advance their mission.
I'd like to hope that there are people in the world now who enjoy their careers so much more thanks to the inspiration and wisdom I helped cultivate.

I am amazing when it comes to cooking, drinks and wines. Pretty decent at travel advice, event planning, social interactions. I'd also be happy to tell you all about the industry in which I work if you at all care. 😁

I am truly interested in the life you lead as well. I honestly never get enough to listen people talk about their work or hobbies, whatever they are, as long as they are passionate about them. Please tell and show me everything you know about the place you live as well!

I'd consider myself an openminded person who loves sharing all the different world views and mindsets. Psychology, mental health, human rights, equality, politics (and I don't mean current affairs, but more about how we all could get along).

No, seriously, though. You will enjoy my sense of humour and an ability to hold a conversation. I have so many utterly pointless stories to tell if given the chance.
Also happy to cook a meal or seven and suggest a bunch of delicious wines and cocktails.
