About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming English.

ABOUT ME

I'm not even a proper couch surfer so I kinda feel like I'm not supposed to be part of this community but I've been told that everyone is very welcoming of non-CS-travellers and I thought I'd just give it a try :)

I'm a 19-year-old Austrian college (no idea if that's the proper equivalent^^) graduate who didn't know what to do with her life and so she decided to take a year off and work as an au pair in the lovely country of England.
I've been here since the beginning of October and I really want to meet new people and get to know the country a little bit better - the family I'm working for is German so I'd also welcome any opportunities in which I can practise my English.

This is me, abridged version: I love languages, travelling, reading, singing, writing poetry & short stories, playing video games, rock climbing and baking. I think sarcasm is the best thing that ever happened to the human race and am convinced that I was born in the wrong country with the wrong mother tongue. So that's what I'm trying to belatedly rectify. :)
Also, I star in every awkward-penguin-moment you've ever seen and I love chocolate.

PHILOSOPHY

Been thinking about that, and came up with -always the outcome when I incessantly think about something - a poem. I call it "Experiment".

Let chance sole know how far you've come
The paths that you have wandered on
The places you have tried to seize
The mountains you have claimed with ease

Let passion burn and sorrow rage
Politely curbed and safely caged
Gift them with smiles and not with tears
Tell them of hopes but not of fears

They say that it is all or none
You either love and hurt as one
Or you're an island, isolated
Bleak and barren, derogated

Yet I choose to brave the current
Walk a path ever inerrant
Embrace the one, conquer the other
Leave myself unstained, unsmothered

Take the good, disown the bad
Full of cheer and never sad
Now, does it work?, my dearest friend
I cannot tell before my end

Interests

BOOKS really grab my attention, I've loved reading ever since I was a little kid and books are what inspire me and what cheer me up when I'm feeling down :D
Also, I love trying out new things and being active, I'm just sometimes too lazy (if that makes sense:P)
