ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student at Columbia College Chicago studying Photography. I moved to Chicago in July of this year (2010) and so far I love it. I'm interested in so many things I don't even know where to begin. I want to begin my first foreign trip in Iceland. I don't know why but I've always wanted to go there. I'm also interested in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Russia, and many many others. I'm a spiritual and optimistic person and I believe this has helped me get through much in my life. My curiosity is boundless. I'm here to expand in every way.

PHILOSOPHY

I learn from experiences, both good and bad. The bad things that have happened to me are actually lessons in disguise to better guide us to where we need to be. I live with no regrets. I make mistakes and I am proud of who I have become. I value expression in the arts and spirituality and how it can help advance and heal us. I think all the time about everything, from my own life to the weirdest and most random things like physics, honey, astronomy, astrology, food, languages, snowflakes, summer breezes, and so on.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To provide some experiences, hopefully. In the future I also want to offer a couch when I am living with different room mates since the ones I live with now are married and not probably open to the idea of foreign strangers sleeping on their couch.

Music, Movies, and Books

I actually don't watch movies very often but I do have some favorites. Edward Scissorhands, Labryinth, Willow, Legend, Pan's Labryinth, A Scanner Darkly, Waking Life, etc. I am into a LOT of music. I like a great deal of nordic/scandinavian artists like The Knife, Fever Ray, Röyksopp, Björk, Trentemøller, Miike Snow and many others like Alanis Morissette, Brazilian Girls, CocoRosie, Goldfrapp, Justice, La Roux, Ladytron, Lady Gaga, MGMT, Mazzy Star, Mindless Self Indulgence, Muse, Neverending White Lights, Nouvelle Vague, Passion Pit, The Presets, Radiohead, Sia, Sufjan Stevens, Super Collider, Travis, VAST, Type O Negative...just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Um..let's see. I've seen crazy schizophrenics piss themselves on the train. I've seen my friend slap a person in the face with a sub sandwich. I've traded stories with a stranger...a militantly evangelical Christian "prophet" who cried in front of me and told me I had a good heart for listening to how he became who he was. I've taken pictures of drunken people falling into a fire.

I haven't done enough.
