My name is Izamonique but most people just call me Monique. I love to travel, meet new people and experience new culture. I am very laid back and respective of all people. I like to tell stories, I like casual conversation and I like music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason that I am couchsurfing is that it is very expensive to always pay for hostels and hotels. With the frequency that I would like to start travelling I would not have the financial funds to support myself. This alternative is not only easier but it also gives me a sense of locality by spending time with natives.

Interests

I am interested in travel, of course. I find interests in politics, music, philosophical issues, global topics, and discussions in general. I like movies and I enjoy activities such as: rollerskating, iceskating, eating, exploring and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music genres are dance hall and reggae, but I do listen to all types of music. I prefer to give all songs a chance - you never know what you will find.
My favourite movie is Law Abiding Citizen, I enjoy all movies similar to this and also action, drama, comedies, and horror. Depending on the type, I like documentaries too.
Growing up I only read realistic fiction. I now prefer science fiction and fantasies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I've done is study abroad. Not many people have the opportunity to do this; it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to all.
