About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At crossroads. Which way to go? Have to find out.

ABOUT ME

I love peace and quietness, nature and animals, books and films. I am quite openminded and love to learn new things, even though my college years are over now.
I like travelling, I don't mind travelling with friends but mass tourism in waterfront "all-inclusive" hotels is not for me. I'd rather explore "backwaters", lost villages and wild forests :)
One of my best experiences was working on private sailing yachts, as a crew member, which allowed me to travel and see different lifestyles...

PHILOSOPHY

Live, and let others live :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have introduced Couchsurfing to some of my friends even before I hosted my first guests, because I liked the idea very much. Long before Couchsurfing was created, I tried (successfuly) to meet local people during my travels and stayed at their homes, which I found the best experience during my travels. Now, I am glad it is possible for such a large and great community of people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted several people from different countries and it always was an interesting experience. At the beginning of this year, I travelled in Australia and New Zealand and had many good couchsurfing experiences there. Also, one or two experiences which were not so great, but I still think couchsurfing is a very positive initiative for open-minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are many amazing things I have experienced so far, cannot choose one :) But if I have to, maybe this:

I was traveling alone in Nepal during the People's War in 2002, at night, by bus, heading to Katmandu. The bus stopped for a short break at a road restaurant and before I realised, suddenly the bus drove away, with my backpack and all documents and money in it. I stood there, in shock, in the middle of the night, on some curvy mountain road, surrounded by dark forests... Funny thing - I was not scared (I probably did not really realise what had just happened).
One day later, I was sitting in a Katmandu hotel with all my stuff and money, and the interesting part is how I did it :)...
But I can tell you the story personally, when we meet.
