About Me
Hi!
My name is Izzy, and I'm a student at Reed College in Portland, OR, currently taking a semester off from school in order to explore my interests outside of the classroom. I’m new to Couchsurfing and hope to make the most of my time in Denver with it.
I’m originally from the Chicago area and am traveling the Southwest for the first time. Most of my travels have been to Bulgaria and I can fluently speak, read, and write in Bulgarian.
I’m an Environmental Studies major especially interested in the intersection of architecture and earth science. Right now I’m trying to learn more about natural building and ecology.
I’m looking forward to exploring Denver and beyond, meeting new people, and swapping stories and laughs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve just been on a short road trip through NM, AZ, UT, and CO, ending in Denver. I plan to spend a few weeks in Denver before moving on. I’m hoping Couchsurfing will help me find places to stay while I’m here as well as put me in touch with people from whom I can learn—both about Denver itself and about anything at all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently took the Amtrak train from Chicago to Santa Fe and loved it! The journey was very beautiful and I discovered the fun of travelling by train. I definitely recommend it over flying!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach: the basics of building with cob, how to make your own yogurt, calculus, how to speak Bulgarian.
I would love to learn: about the geology of the Southwest, how to speak Spanish more fluently, the names of major constellations and how to find them, and where the best chocolate can be found in Denver.
I can share: some Prismacolor colored pencils and a small watercolor kit, a love for all things sweet, and an open mind + positive attitude.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share stories of travels and home and hear stories in return! I’m happy to help with any interesting projects you may have going on or hear about any things you are passionate about.
