About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Feeling the earth, loving myself, holding space

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the bay area of California and I love the pristine weather, the quirky people, the parks, and the food. I love the freedom of travel, and get out into nature every Sunday on purpose. I'm an academic in practice, and I think teaching is where my heart's at. Authentic connection is the stuff of life, and I consider it my life's work to move into fuller, more loving presence with myself and others, to release any obstacles, and to walk my path with lightness and power. I learn a lot from relationships, and I like deep connections with people. Meeting new people isn't usually easy for me, but I find it very rewarding.

PHILOSOPHY

I like this:
"Life is not about finding yourself
Life is about CREATING yourself"

I am busy creating my life. I'm into reflection and integration and finding core, and I meditate every day. I figure out life for myself and accept the ever-changing moment. Spirituality is a constant practice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to meet new people through CS and use it to connect with local communities I visit. Once I have my own place, I'll set up a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined back in the USA just before leaving for Ireland. There I did hostels until I randomly met a CS host open to a new surfer (we aere both watching a drumming busier in Galway), and things flew easy from there. Stayed with some incredible people, in my mind it's like the evolution of hitch-hiking in terms of trusting the kindness of "strangers"/friends you don't yet know. I'm looking forward to using CS more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Awkwardly interviewed a dozen or so spirit mediums/traditional priests for my undergrad anthropology research in Ghana. After a few minutes of silence with me writing and not knowing what to say, the head guy said that his deity was telling him to call it a day
