About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel the world and tell people's stories. Not just anyone, but those whose stories are not being told. I want to be a voice for the silenced.

ABOUT ME

I am addicted to crossword puzzles, and I bite my nails. I can get along with almost anyone, as long as they're good people. I am of the pen and not the sword in that I want to save the world through journalism. And I like more peanut butter than jelly on my PB&J.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're always looking for the good, you'll find it. If you don't expect too much, you'll always be pleasantly surprised.

The less preferences you have, the happier you'll be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was first introduced to CS in the summer of 2009, when I traveled with a CS member and stayed on people's couches across the country. I met amazing people and got to see the best parts of the cities we were in. Since then, I've mostly hosted, and I hope I can provide the same experience to people who visit Gainesville or wherever I may be in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never had a bad CS experience. Whether I'm hosting or surfing, people are always willing to show you the best sides or see the best sides of a city. And because CS.org is a community, people always enter my house or welcome me into their houses ready and willing to learn about me and to share about themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think there are two kinds of music in this world - the good kind and the bad kind. I prefer the good.

As far as books go, in order of appearance:

The Bell Jar, Catcher In The Rye, The Rum Diaries, The Master and Margarita, The Art of War, Journey To The End Of The Night, 100 Years of Solitude

And for movies: Charade, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harold and Maude, Lolita (1962)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help people appreciate the space they're in. I know a bit about bikes and camping and cooking and writing and partying and meeting people and speaking spanish or english and sitting on porches and living.
