About Me

******Currently traveling in SoCal, mostly the Los Angeles / Orange County areas until mid August******
******Up for hanging out in the Cali area, especially dog parks, hikes, beach/ocean visits******

CURRENT MISSION

to try everything at least once. to live life joyfully, one smile and adventure at a time.

ABOUT ME

i'm extremely cheerful and i love to have fun and make people smile. this world is a beautiful place and i love to explore it.

i love to learn, see, experience new things. often, i have to remind myself to slow down so i can REALLY absorb everything around me.

i LOVE sushi. yum. esp unagi. i love all food actually and will try anything and everything. i apologize to vegetarians, but ive tried more animals than you'd care to hear. in japan, i had raw horse. in australia, i tried kangaroo, emu and crocodile. in iceland, i had whale and puffin (gross). and of course, being chinese, my favorite dim sum plate is chicken feet :)

i would like to see the world. through your eyes. if you're willing to share your life with me, i will listen. there are so many vibrant cultures and ways of living i'm unfamiliar with, it's great that we're all so different from one another.

PHILOSOPHY

theres only one life to live. you might as well enjoy it.

be happy. be kind. be considerate. be human.

i believe in uplifting people to uplift other people. it's so important that we be supportive of one another in our short lifetimes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

im a believer that all people are naturally good-hearted... i have become friends with past Couchsurfing friends and hosts and love how genuine, adventurous, and remarkable everyone I've met has been, traveling across the world

unfortunately i can't host at this time but try to promote CS by WOM whenever i can since i've had such a good experience just meeting people through it :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

the idea seemed really skeptical to me at first (and that's how friends react when i tell them what i'm up to) but after risking my life twice already by hurling myself off a plane and off a bridge, it's not really that scary in comparison

ive hosted in Singapore and in the US. I've surfed across the US, Asia once, and it was a savior for me in my recent solo Euro backpacking trip.

Interests

i love being active. i am on a mission to run 7 marathons across 7 continents before I turn 33 and I've done NYC, Berlin, Queenstown, ANTARCTICA O__O, and Marrakech! Next up is South America and ending on the Great Wall of China :)

I also do triathlons and enjoy scuba diving, volleyball, swimming, hiking, yoga, snowboarding, and sailing.

you'll notice i like jumping. but who doesnt?

i also like talking alot. maybe i should warn you: im very inquisitive. so it's probably a better thing if you enjoy lively conversations.

life. laughter. love

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2010: the. aurora. borealis. (aka northern lights)

from the canadian arctic (near yellowknife where the ice road truckers series originated). it was the closest thing to a religious experience i ever had. it was so beautiful i almost cried and i just laid there on the snow for over an hour watching as the sky danced and danced

2018: antarctica marathon and polar plunge -- not only did i get to run 26.2 miles with 99 other inspiring, amazing souls in Antarctica, but also I got to plunge into the Antarctic waters and swim with seals!!! I even got it on video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dknmmhceXE ..... STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT O___O

Teach, Learn, Share

i'm not really an expert at anything.

but ask and i shall tell

especially over a smoky glass of scotch, neat ^__^
