About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find a flat in Bogota

ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher and travel addict. Lived in a few different places and hope to live in a few more. Just arrived in Bogota and loving it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ive done quite a bit of surfing over the last 5/6 years. Hope to start hosting once I've found myself a flat here in Bogota.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lots of surfing round South America, made some great friends through it in Japan. Hoping to give back by hosting soon.

Interests

I love classic travel lit, scifi (but not so much aliens and flying saucers, more the 'what if?' variety), books with a bit of a philosophical bent. Of course travel and exploring new cultures. I love dancing, live events, camp fire singsongs, festivals and any other way of soaking up music. I like to snowboard and try out new outdoorsy things. Food is passion, eating it and making it so if u let me loose in your kitchen I promise to feed you well.

Music, Movies & Books

Too many to name! Some movies - La Dolce Vita, Blade Runner, Gondry films, Wes Anderson, Film Noir, Almodovar, Lynch, Jarmusch, All about Lily Chou Chou, Chan Wook-Park. Some Authors - Nabakov, Phillip K Dick, F Scott Fitzgerald, William Gibson, Iris Murdoch, Raymond Chandler, Paul Theroux, Bruce Chatwin, Pico Iyer Music - The good stuff

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Iceland was the most bizarre place I have ever been. Hitchhiking from Colombia to Recife, Brasil to make it to the first night of Carnival 10 mins before Manu Chao started was a pretty amazing achievement.... Living in Japan was fascinating.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English so I can offer English conversation / lessons in return for practising my terrible Spanish, or salsa lessons. I know a few nice recipes I'm always willing to exchange. I'm also learning massage so can offer that in return for a bottle of wine or a nice meal or something.

Countries I've Visited

Anguilla, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Plurinational State of, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Morocco, Peru, Poland, Spain, Tanzania, United Republic of, Thailand

Countries I've Lived In

Colombia, Japan, Sudan, United Kingdom
