About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience the world on a local level.

ABOUT ME

I am a laid back guy who likes to try new things, and of course, I love to travel. Getting to know new people is great, because there is no better way to gain an understanding of how life varies around the world and there is nothing like listening to a good story / adventure from someone that has experienced it first hand.

PHILOSOPHY

Relax, if something goes wrong it is usually not a big deal. Look at the big picture, look at your life with respect to the rest of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am planning to get into couch surfing in Asia in 2013

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned of couchsurfing from a Norwegian guy I met when I was in Brazil a few years ago. I signed up but I never got round to doing anything about it until now in 2013 when I am planning to do some couchsurfing in Asia.

Interests

I love learning and I really enjoy physics, I am currently going in my 3rd year studying physics at the ANU in Canberra. Whenever I can I drive 2 hours from Canberra to go surfing or snowboarding (depending on the season). Canberra is lucky enough to have snowy mountains on one side and pristine beaches with great surf on the other.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Doors! Also I do enjoy reading quite a lot, Aldous Huxley and Neal Stephenson write some good books. Oldboy, the usual suspects and Paprika are quality movies and Michael Haneke is an excellent director.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the raw power of Foz do Iguacu, the large waterfalls between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. It looked as if someone had just suddenly chopped the ocean in half and it was all draining away. Also, I was there during a full moon and so when I went to the falls at night the moonlight hit the spray from the waterfalls to create a rainbow (I like to call it a moonbow).

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
