Hello! We've never met, so you don't know what I sound like when I talk. For best results, please read the following in a cheery, almost-hyper tone--like a kid waking up on Christmas, but less crazy: That's how I try to make each day feel.

I'm a 21-year-old junior at Michigan State University, and I've spent most of my life moving around with my family--I'm the oldest of eight kids, which has made for a fun time growing up. So far I've lived in eleven(ish) cities, and I hope to continue travelling and moving about the rest of my life. This past summer I roadtripped solo from Oregon to Michigan, and right now I'm excited to travel to Iceland and across the US this summer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People are awesome. Most of them, anyway, and I'd like to get to know as many as possible. One of my favorite things about moving and travelling so much is that I've been able to meet so many more people than if I would've stayed in one town my entire life. As a kid I used to love staying in hotels when we travelled--mostly because of the pools--but I've definitely come around since then. While I still enjoy hotels once in a while, for nostalgia's sake, I really prefer a less commercial experience where I can meet and talk with real people instead of just booking a spot online. I enjoy staying in hostels, catching up with old friends on my way across the country (perks of knowing people all over!), and using Airbnb, so I was obviously excited to discover Couchsurfing. One thing I'm really looking forward to is hosting other surfers--I'm not able to at the moment, while I'm in school, but I can't wait to graduate and start once I have my own place!
