About Me

تحب ما تفعله

I love to meet people and learn about their backgrounds and customs and hear their stories. I especially love folklore and mythology -- everything from the Balkan Busojaras to Japanese ghosts.

I haven't traveled much, but I've had great experiences so far, and I can't wait to get out and explore more. I love trying new foods, history, languages, violin and piano, reading and writing, movies, and avocados and lemurs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've couchsurfed my way down to the Big Easy and loved the entire experience. Get out there and do it - it's worth it.

I hosted CSers during my three years and three apartments in New York and met some great people.

I'm now hosting people in Budapest, Hungary, and enjoy showing them around my new (temporary) home.

Montreal, Canada - Didn't get to see our host much, but what we did see of him, we loved. Great Hawksley Workman concert, good beer, and amazing people.

New Orleans, Louisiana -- I had the best experiences in this city! Good food, ridiculous karaoke bars, and crazy giant polymaths.

Rome, Italy -- Wonderful, accommodating, and impressively knowledgeable host and a gorgeous, green city.

travel, languages, Stephen Colbert, films, cooking, piano, violin, words beginning with "v", writing and reporting, mythology and folklore, crime stories, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Alice in Wonderland, Fifth Element, Donnie Darko, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Sweeney Todd, Run Lola Run, Der Untergang, Seven.
Royksopp, St. Vincent, tune-yards, Andrew Bird, Madonna (embarassed to admit it, but she's still got it), Caribou, Punch Brothers, Beastie Boys...loads more, but I'm always searching for new music, so suggest away!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Eiffel Tower, in a light rain at night after a terrible day, lighting up suddenly, which made me cry like a sissy, and running up Buda hill to the Citadella to be rewarded with an amazing view of the city.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
