I've been living in Asia for most of the past 5 years--in South Korea, China, and now just recently in Taiwan. I'm a teacher, free-lance writer, and musician. I've just started playing guitar in a band called Skmillion. I have several future travel plans, but for now I'm going to stay in Jhusan to get some work done. Easy-goings...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live right in the middle of Taiwan, it's off the tourist beaten-path for sure. I have a couch, spare bedroom, and a bed mat in the office, so there is plenty of space in my apartment. If you're interested in seeing Taiwan, away from the big cities, andnormal tourist attractions, come on out to Jhusan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I signed up for this years ago, but got on the Hostel hopping boat instead. But I've finally decided to stay in one place for a while, and would be thrilled to host anyone on their travels through Taiwan--it's a wonderful place.

Interests

Hiking, running, fishing, reading, guitar, journaling, discussions...not debating, watching stand-up comedy, going to live music shows, I've just recently started scuba diving, and of course, traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

some of my favorite authors are Bill Bryson, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Tom Robbins, Hunter Thompson, Hemmingway...among others. Two of my most favorite books are Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, and catch 22

I'm a movie freak--If I haven't seen it yet, I will soon enough.

Music--depends on my mood and environment. I'm slide guitar mostly
