walking around the streets of tripoli shortly after libya opened its doors to foreigners and being greeted by people from young schoolgirls to old shopkeepers who just wanted to say how happy they were to have visitors...

riding a motorcycle around the island of bali - sleeping in cheap half-empty hotels and leaving the door open to make the noise of the sea (just a few feet away) even louder...
