About Me

Hello!!

I'm a 26 year old from London, England who has a taken a year out of work to travel around the world.

I am currently on a three month roadtrip from San Francisco to New York, finishing 28th November. So excited to be exploring this beautiful country and to have the opportunity of meeting great new people along the way.

I'm new to couchsurfing but promise to be a considerate, fun and friendly guest. Is it normal to bring a bottle of wine? I'm going to go ahead and do it... And don't worry, the thank you letter / postcard will be on its way! Finally, if there's a part of my trip that you like the look of, join in!! Especially Austin City Limits 7-9 October...

Current itinerary:

SF, LA, San Diego, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Utah, Colorado, Dallas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta Georgia, S Carolina, N Carolina, Washington, Philadelphia, NY, Boston, NY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling on my own, and have been since last November (except a few friends coming out to join for a week or two along the way). It has been an amazing way to meet incredible new people, and make new friends. I look forward to sharing stories, travel tips and recipes!!

I don't have a particularly sizeable budget, so to be honest couchsurfing is also a nice way for me to save a bit of money!

Interests

I'm a really active, fun-loving guy who enjoys a party but also really keen on getting an insight into the cultural differences across the States.

I've spent the last 3.5 months in South America and Cuba and have absolutely loved the different cuisines, art, music, ways of life and stories I've encountered along the way.

I'd love a chance to get to see some college sports (and maybe the occasional pro game), and also to try my hand at some crazy new experiences (rodeo in Texas, surfing in California, open mic night in Nashville???). If you suggest an activity, I won't say no!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: As I've travelled this year, I've tried to dive right into the local music as I have a pretty eclectic music taste. Favourite so far has been Colombian reggaeton! Back home I listen to a range of rock-based genres, both classics and contemporary. Cannot WAIT for Austin City Limits in October

Books: Currently reading the Examined Life by Stephen Grosz, which is a memoir of a psychoanalyst with all his juiciest patient stories, but generally like a mix between classics (recently Orwell, Austen) and page-turning thrillers (Le Carré, Robert Harris). I also devour current affairs journalism, having studied Politics, Philosophy & Economics at university

Movies: Comedy/Action mainly but happy with most.

TV: House of Cards, Game of Thrones, New Girl, Suits

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hardest thing I've done this year was climbing a 6,100m (20,000ft) mountain in Bolivia. Draining altitude sickness, a midnight start from advanced base camp, and a 6.15am summit, but seeing the sunrise from what felt like the top of the world was an amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know what this bit is meant to mean, but...

I can teach (fairly basic) French, German, piano, rugby, soccer

I would love to learn any family recipes and a bit more Spanish

And I'll always turn up with a bottle of wine, ready to share some stories if you're keen

What I Can Share with Hosts

The same question again?

Stop making me say I'll bring wine!!

Also more than happy to help with odd jobs and housework while I stay
