Hi! My name is Jack. I grew up near Byron Bay, Australia. I now live in Melbourne when I’m not travelling. I’ve spent all of 2024 travelling and volunteering through South and Central America, and hoping to continue doing so as long as I can.

Both in Byron bay and in Melbourne I have hosted people on Couch Surfers (unfortunately on my housemates account, but can provide evidence if needed) and believe it is an amazing way to meet new people and see new things while also getting that local experience. I’m so excited to be able to try it myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m couch surfing to be able to have the opportunity to go to places I potentially couldn’t normally, meet new people and learn the local way of life where possible.

Lastly, I want to see a day in the life of a local. I want to see how different places run, what people do for fun and get recommendations for what I can do while there, and also bring some of these things back with me into my own life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I basically live for live music. Through my childhood and into my adult life, I spend my waking moments looking into seeing gigs or raves when I can.

I grew up listening to ‘Australian beach music’ as some might say (alt rock), and have slowly changed to more electronic music since covid and picking up djing. I still go back to my roots in times of need.

Favourite movie can’t be one, but Lord of the Rings trilogy.

A must read in my opinion is the Red Rising series. Could talk about it all day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach people about Australian culture, music and way of life. Also teach English. I love learning new languages and am progressing slowly at Spanish but good enough to be almost conversational.

I’d also share my knowledge of in marketing and computer science where possible as I spent 5 years studying a double degree in this field.

Lastly, id love to share my travelling stories. Being almost 25, I have spent much if my life devoted to saving and travelling. I leaving hearing other peoples experiences and learning new ways to travel - hence couch surfing!

I can share with hosts an Australian perspective, music and way of life. I can share with them some experiences I have learned while travelling and also some great card games. I love to cook and learn new things as well. Can cook for each other.
