Hi! I'm Jack, I'm 26 years old and I live in Norwich in the UK. The things are like are pretty standard -- music, films, books, traveling -- but I like them a lot. I'm doing a PhD in modern American literature and I hope to have a career in academia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first got into couchsurfing whilst traveling in the U.S. with my friend. At first I was skeptical, it sounded like exactly the kind of thing your parents tell you to avoid, but after my first experience in Dallas I thought it was great. You meet new people and you learn about different cultures. For me CS and traveling go hand in hand.

Can't really deny my indie music roots but I enjoy house music, ambient music, jazz, and hip hop as well.

I'll give any film a go... unless it's a horror maybe.

My favourite books always change but with A Confederacy of Dunces fresh in my mind from recent reading I must say that that is one of my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a beach in Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, I saw three rainbows. That was rather spectacular.
