I am a kind, humourous and enthusiastic young man who has chosen to spend most of his days teaching young children how to become the best versions of themselves. I am a keen and genuine person, passionate about meeting new people and learning from them. I have lived in New Zealand all my life and am excited to start my 4 month travelling journey around Europe.

My girlfriend (who I am travelling with), Elena Stavrovska (22), is a Lawyer that has a Bachelor of Laws degree who has recently started her career. But before she gets too locked into the working life, she decided to travel first. Originally from Macedonia, she moved to New Zealand when she was 6 months old. Fast forward 20 something years and we met at a music festival. Been dating for over a year and couldn't be happier (the ultimate love story I know). She is an intelligent, personable and caring girl who has a wicked sense of humour (she's pretty easy on the eyes as well if I may say so myself haha). Loves adventure and loves a chance to make new friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are both excited to experience different cultures and meet people overseas so we thought what better way than to stay with the locals and possibly make some friends along the way.

While I have said we are not accepting guests, we are really keen to change that once we settle back in New Zealand. We will either be living in Christchurch or Auckland when we get back as we have different hometowns. We would be more than willing to reciprocate if anyone who hosts us would like to travel to New Zealand and stay with us in return for your generosity.

Jack:
I am open to all sorts of music, my Spotify consists of over 3000 songs so I have a real range. Feel free to check it out, search up Jack Roberts on Spotify and hopefully you'll find my profile with a picture of me beside a graffiti wall haha. My favourite movie would have to be either 'Interstellar' or any Marvel Movie. Lastly my favourite book would be 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*#k'. A real game changer for me on how I look at things in life.

Elena:
Kanye West's biggest fan! Just his music, not a fan that he is friends with Donald Trump haha. Her favourite book is 'The Book Thief' and for the movie shes torn between 'A Star is Born' and 'Definitely, Maybe'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jack:
I can jump my own height in high jump? (1 meter and 80 centimeters). More of a fun fact and not really that amazing but I'm not normally one to boast about my achievements.

Elena:
Got the highest grade in New Zealand in piano exam. So if you have a piano, she will play you a wicked tune (;

An amazing experience we had together was climbing Roys Peak in Wanaka, New Zealand. The most breath taking view I've ever seen (so far).

We are both really passionate about our careers and have a large bank of knowledge on them, especially in the New Zealand context. Would love sharing our ideas about education and law with anyone who is interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We love to chat, we are passionate about conversation and reasonably knowledgeable so enjoy to talk about a variety of topics! We particularly enjoy advocating for travel to New Zealand as it is a beautiful country. We are also clean and tidy and respect that hosts may want to keep to themselves so we can happily entertain ourselves if that is our hosts preference.
