Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to soak in as much diversity and culture as i can. to gain a greater perspective on traditions from around the world. to attempt to configure the heart of every culture and to see it all before it slips away.
ABOUT ME
.not all that wander are lost.
[good thing there's nav!! o_O]
--this is engraved on the back of my itouch. i think tolkien wrote this with me in mind.
i have a penchant for wandering and a tendency of getting lost. i find these characteristics undyingly amusing and at times terrifyingly stressful. never a dull moment. i'm very impulsive and passionate as well, so once i set my heart out to do something, i go full-throttle, which sometimes is a bad thing because it gets really overwhelming!! i love staying active and do 'ballsy' things to remind myself how fragile and amazing my life is. you've gotta try everything once. if you like it, do it again, only BETTER.
i go on a month-short odyssey trekking scandinavia, western and some of eastern europe from nov-dec and then i head off to northern africa. alone. feel like meeting up? i'd really appreciate the help and the prospect of making new friends along the way!! ^_^
there's enough ugly in the world that people create. i'd like to see all the pretty that nature made herself before people go off and make her ugly too.
soak up as much culture as i can. i love the idea of learning everyone else's roots and understanding their behavior. it's the cognitive process that cannot be taught in books. only by culture and immersion.
can't wait to get back home to recharge and embark on yet another journey. [basically go home, pay off the debt from this trip, save up enough money, and then go off again. target departure: february. central and south america!! --maybe even antarctica!! wooo!!]
PHILOSOPHY
not all who wander are lost.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
man, there have been many. but still, there are many many more to come.
running and slipping down marble steps barefoot in the POURING rain in athens, greece from atop the acropolis with water to my shins.
kite surfing topless on the rhine river in germany.
deep water soloing/ rock climbing on the islands off the turkish coast, summitting and diving into the salty blue of the mediterranean.
trying to take a shit on an old train in south korea (squatting) and then falling forward at an abrupt stop with my pants around my ankles. >_<
going over 200 km/ph (over 150mph) on the back of a bmw motorcycle in the german countryside.
many many more to come...
Teach, Learn, Share
i want to exchange quality. i've become very disappointed in the culture that we are faced with today. the social networking monster that is "myspace". it's a popularity contest!! and that makes me sad. i want to exchange quality relations with people. that we may converse and relate on issues that we are both passionate about; travel, higher learning, psychology, cooking, climbing, etc. it's not how many people you know that makes you 'cooler' or more popular, it's who you know that thinks you're an interesting person that's "cool". aughahaha!!
basically i want to perpetuate quality meetings and friendships with people that don't just last a day or a week, but rather a lifetime.
