About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Keep moving. Always have fun.
ABOUT ME
I go by many names.
Just a little ol' human bean wandering around on our big ol' planet. I like and dislike things. I've been places. I have a desire to go more places and do more things. Oh, and I've got a few good jokes.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what makes the best story!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I sleep on couches!
On a more serious note, I choose to couch surf because I don't like to be a tourist. I want to genuinely know the country I'm in on a visceral level. The best way to do that is to get to know a local or two.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted one person and couch surfed once in Amritsar, India. I'm not the most experienced, but you can help me change that.
Interests
Music, comedy, coffee, food, sideshow, burlesque, circus and performance art, investigative journalism (i.e. I listen to too many podcasts), getting in trouble
Things I'm interested in learning:
Carpentry, construction, fabrication, and furniture upholstery
Music, Movies, and Books
I have the attention span of a 7 year-old
hopped up on pixie sticks so I don't watch many movies, though I do tend to like Tarantino, David Lynch & Cohen Bros. films.
I could list bands forever, but instead I'll list a random assortment. Talking Heads, Parliament Funkadelic, Django Reinhardt, Leadbelly, Sufjan Stevens, Shannon and the Clams, Leadbelly, Wanda Jackson, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Messer Chups, Brigitte Bardot
I have a soft spot for funk, new wave, blues, ragtime, surf rock, garage rock and anything with heavy reverb. Im obsessed with Cambodian rock & roll from the 60's and early 70's.
I also have a passion for stand-up comedy. Some of my favorite comedians are Doug Stanhope, Kyle Kinane, Eugene Mirman, and Hannibal Buress.
I don't read as often as I'd like to but currently I'm on a Tom Robbins kick.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best decision I ever made was to leave home to go to the desert wth hundreds of freaks and degenerates to do hard physical labor.
I work for the Department of Public works for Black Rock City, the site where Burning Man is held. Every year I go to the desert for two months. It is always he best time of my life.
Just one amazing thing? Nah. I'm not modest, here's some more:
I've worked in a Tibetan soup kitchen, convinced 15 adults to wear diapers for a day, been on TV and a movie, walked around the border of an entire country, and one time I won $30 on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have some stories, a trove of jokes, and I'll definitly buy ya a drink if you host me. It doesn't take much to convince me to cook a meal either.
