I am a married mother of 3 children, 2 grown girls and a son in high school. I work full-time in emergency/crisis management. My son will graduate from high school in 2018 and I would love to host and travel using couch surfing once he heads off to college.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My youngest child is in high school and the "empty nest" is getting closer. I would love to meet people from other countries and culture and some day would like to travel the world. I prefer meeting people and experiencing and learning about new cultures than doing the tourist thing.

Interests

I love to bake, sew, crochet, doing needlecrafts and really learning any kind of crafts, especially cultural items. I am learning to play the mandolin and planning to learn the harmonica. I have always been a runner. I enjoy dehydrating and preserving food - primarily fruits, we have many fruit trees in our back yard. My primary interest is learning new things and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music collection is so diverse I wouldn't know where to start. I do enjoy playing Celtic and bluegrass music on my mandolin but playing to a classic rock song is fun too. I am a sci fi fan having grown up with a Star Wars but my movie collection goes from the classics to Disney movies. My favorite author is Dan Brown and I am eagerly awaiting his next book.
