Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

To explore and eat as many delicious foods as possible

ABOUT ME

Jackie: I was born in China and moved to America when I was three. I graduated university and immediately began working. After two years, I decided life was to short to just settle down, work and "grow up". So, I decided to begin an adventure in China.

I love to eat and try new foods. I also love a good beer and a good company.

In America, I spent a lot of free time cooking and inviting my friends over to try my creations. I was super addicted to the Food Network and the Travel Channel. Watching Bourdain in No Reservations and being a huge foodie made me want to travel. I want to try anything and everything that is new and different.

No food is never too strange or gross for me. Like Andrew Zimmern said, "If it looks goodm eat it!". I have tried chicken feet, pig's feet, stinky tofu, pig's brain, grasshoopers, silk worms, duck head, duck tongue, duck feet, intestines, barbacoa (cow cheeks), beef and chicken tongue, pig nose, pig ear, raw shrimp and fish, pig and duck blood, pig, duck and chicken liver, chicken heart and much more.

My experiance in China so far has been a great one. Being able to speak and understand Chinese makes it much easier for us to travel and communicate with people. However, not being able to read or write Chinese causes a lot of issues as well. Imagine going to a Chinese restaurant and asking the waiter to read the menu to you because you can't read Chinese but you look Chinese and speak Chinese. :)

Raul: I grew up in Laredo, Texas which is right on the border of America and Mexico. Growing up, it was normal to cross into Mexico many times a week. Laredo is a small city and when it came time for college, I decided to try Houston. Jackie and I met in college and after graduating, we both decided that we wanted to travel and explore more of the world together. We have been teaching English in Taizhou, Zhejiang, China. China has been very different but exciting and truly a great experiance.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy yourself!
