ABOUT ME

I just finished my fourth and what should have been my final year of college, but I still have another semester to go. I was bored with my degree program, so I ended up changing my major and began learning Chinese. It is a big challenge, but I love learning as much as I can. I am going home to the States in July, but will definitely be back in Spring 2011 to continue learning.

About me; I am tall as far as Americans go (about 6'7" or 2 meters) so in China I don't blend in too well. I am usually talking or laughing. I like to have a good time no matter where I am, whether I'm on a school field trip to some less than pleasant areas of China, or at the bar on a Friday night. I used to consider myself smart, but every time I meet someone who speaks 4 or 5 languages I realize how wrong I was hah. I miss my family and friends back in the states, but I talk to them on Skype and Facebook all the time, so don't tell them I said this but the thing I miss the most is good pizza.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am brand new to couchsurfing.com, but my first goal is to find a place to stay while I'm in Qingdao briefly. When I get to the States I plan on offering up my couch in beautiful Springfield Missouri.

Interessen

Watching sports, playing sports, playing pool, learning anything, getting better at Chinese, meeting people from different cultures, traveling, walking around aimlessly on sunny days, reading, talking politics (only friendly conversations), and many many more.

Most of the books I've read I was forced to read for school, unfortunately those are the only ones I have time for.
