About Me

We are a couple traveling from Northern South America to Southern South America, along the west coast. We are graduates of University of North Texas and are taking a year to travel, strengthen our spanish, and experience the cultures of Latin America. All while living and laughing with as many new friends as possible. We are personable and adventurous people, looking to explore the world and make some friends along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We will be working many jobs throughout Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina, and will need places to stay in between job sites and other attractions. Also, who doesn't want to swap stories and make new friends??

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- Classic Rock, 90's hip-hop, Sublime, jam bands, reggae, funk, soul, blues etc.... we like any music that is fun and talented.

Movies- Usual Suspects, Training Day, Super Troopers, Anchorman, Se7en, Man on Fire, Better Life Through Chemistry, Shutter Island, Jacobs Ladder etc... comedy, psychological, action, horror. I just love movies that make me think a lot, laugh a lot or movies that are just plain bizarre.

Books- To Kill a Mockingbird, Ender's Game, Da Vinci Code, Odyssey, Fight Club (or anything by Chuck Palahniuk) and Possible Side Effects (or anything by Augusten Burroughs)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jackson- Met many famous band members backstage at a music festival (The Turtles, The Zombies, Iron Butterfly, Mountain, Badfinger, Country Joe)

Reina- Be selected (out of about 100) and partake in an exclusive Group Art Exhibition during my undergrad career, showcasing my art among about 20 individuals.

We have also explored and camped throughout the beautiful mountain ranges of northern Colorado, USA.

Recently in Ecuador we climbed a mountain to watch a sunset then traveled to an island to snorkel with tropical fish and giant sea turtles.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jackson- I would love to teach and share my knowledge of guitar and bass, along with singing at the same time. I enjoy playing music with others. I am willing to help anyone practice or learn English. Also, If Biology or other sciences are of interest or challenging to you, I have a very broad knowledge and would love to share it. I have also had experience in remodeling/landscaping and love to help others with labor.

Reina- As a photographer, I would love to share my passion for photo taking with anyone who is interested in that field. Although that is my profession, I also have a broad knowledge of the arts, spanning anywhere from painting, drawing, ceramics, fibers, and sculpture. We are both fluent in English and would be more than happy to help in that area as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are both willing to help around the house if needed, and can share any of our skills stated above. We are also fun people to be around and love to share conversation and laughter. We will answer any questions your have and be sure to make our stay beneficial to both of us!
