I'm a retired English female who's been a fulltime traveller for >8 years, an author and publisher helping people to publish their memoirs. I love natural, quiet and secluded spots rather than busy cities and modern buildings. Love seeing churches, temples, mosques, and architecture.

I'm easygoing, love meeting new people, have led a ridiculously varied and at times bizarre life and am keen to learn about other cultures beyond my own. Enjoy music, walking, swimming.

Love the sea, countryside, sleeping under the stars, terrific architecture and historical buildings. Not keen on museums and art galleries.

I speak a little French, German and Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Spent the past 8 years travelling the world. I love meeting locals or expats who will show me their home town / city / desert / village etc and let me see more of their lifestyle and customs.

I enjoy helping others practise English if they're interested in improving or just share experiences I have had of life, travel, people and my own culture.

Interests

Enjoy music, particularly classical, as I used to play clarinet and piano and have a 'cello waiting at home for me to learn.
Love walking either through towns and cities exploring the area, or outdoors in the countryside.
Getting to know new people has been one of the highlights of my current journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

North Pole expedition on a nuclear-powered icebreaker ship. Amazing standing at 90 Degrees North, getting off onto the ice, and seeing polar bears.
