At the moment I'm planning to go by train to Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. I am going with friend Siobhan who I've known all my life, and for her it will be the first leg of a trip round the world.

Music - playing it, writing it and listening to it, although people are sometimes amazed that I don't know a particular band. I'm on the lookout for a mini guitar to take travelling.

Plants - they are great. I am learning more about them - how to grow them, which ones you can eat etc.

I love maths puzzles. Here is one:

A gift shop owner decides to sell coloured cubes to tourists. The six faces must be painted red, yellow, green blue, orange and pink, so that each face is a different colour. The owner wants to have as wide a range of products as possible, so he wants to create different cubes by putting the colours in different positions. Each of these cubes will then be a different model, with a different serial number, and different names like "cube original", "cube deluxe", "cube gold" etc. How many different cubes can he make in this way? (Hint: the answer is not 720)
