I'm brand new to this, but excited for an adventure!

Interests

I like to keep myself busy, and I do so by trying to learn new things, especially in science. I'm entering a graduate program in neuroscience to learn more about how the brain works. I enjoy going out to eat and listening to live music with my husband.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy books by David Sedaris. I get pretty uncomfortable when I laugh out loud when I'm reading his stories, but I've learned to be OK with it. I like whimsical movies like Big Fish, Matilda, Pan's Labryinth, and Hugo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My family travels from Ohio to Quebec every other summer for a fishing trip. Even though we are laughably terrible fisherpeople, we have a great time together in a remote part of the Canadian wilderness. On one of these trips, we had the awesome experience of witnessing the aurora borealis on a warm summer evening. The loons on the lake were so eerie and loud, and the sky was lit up like a canvas. Pictures couldn't do it justice, it was incredible.

In the fall many years ago, my dad took me and my sisters to a nearby park to watch a meteor shower. It was freezing, but we saw almost a hundred shooting stars in an hour. It was pretty unforgettable. I guess I like the natural wonders because they make me feel so small.
