About Me

Hello! I am a 26 year old graduate looking to expand my knowledge of the world and it's cultures! Having lived in Britain my whole life, my exposure to people, food and places outside my peers has been very limited, and I would love to correct that. Hopefully I can bring others a little 'tit-bit' from the UK and a few witty anecdotes in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Honestly? Because the tourism industry is a complete rip-off and makes any form of long term travelling both inaccessible and expensive. Not only that but both Hostel and AirBnB environments lack that personal quality and human interaction that I think alot of travelling should be about. Its not much fun backpacking if you dont get to REALLY meet people, and get to know them on a level beyond staring at phones all day...

Interests

My main hobbies are reading sci-fi literature (mainly 70's & 80's classics), discovering new films, playing board/card games, roleplaying (any D&D nerds out there?) and ESPECIALLY trying new exotic food and drink. My palate needs refining. Bad. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I'm ~really~ digging both the album "Humanz" by Gorillaz, and the latest single "I feel like Summer" by Childish Gambino. I have a softspot for animation in music videos.

Considering the backpacking, I thought I'd finally get round to reading "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" which I can recommend for it's cleverly written and dark humour. Made even better as I obtained my dog-eared copy whilst travelling second hand and intend to leave it for the next traveller too, seems appropriate. Oh. And anything by Phillip K. Dick...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently ate snails? Not the hugest thing in the world. But for me? Massive achievement!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested in meeting someone who's not only enthusiastic about discovering your culture but also specifically meeting ~you~, then I am your man. I can offer long conversation, relaxed & chilled out companionship, and most importantly fun. I hope.

Furthermore for those looking to learn English, being from the United Kingdom makes it my Mother-Tongue, with an Estuary accent to boot which I'm happy to try and teach.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I'm travelling Europe alongside my partner Robyn, we can offer you a witty pair of Brits who are both willing to help teach our language and learn a bit of your own in return. And we're a funny duo. Not comedy funny. But polite laughter at least. Decent company too.
