About Me

i traveled outside the country for the first time in 2018 — first to costa rica for a yoga retreat, then to guatemala where i hiked a volcano and got bit hard by the travel bug. two weeks later i booked a one-way ticket to southeast asia and spent the next five and a half months wandering, learning, and meeting people who changed how i see the world. one of the best things i’ve ever done. it reminded me that while we may speak different languages, move through the world in different ways, or pray to different gods, we all want the same things. we all feel the same things.

i moved from san francisco to new york city in october 2019 and had five unforgettable months before the world flipped upside down. nyc became the epicenter of the pandemic in the u.s., and somehow i stayed. still here. still exploring. still learning.

i’ve been teaching yoga since 2013, and yes, it’s my real job. i lead international retreats and guide movement across various gyms, studios, and bouldering centers throughout brooklyn and manhattan. my days are filled with walking, biking, lifting, and finding small moments to move with purpose and intention.

for me movement is more than just physical it’s a language for self-inquiry a way to better sense ourselves and in turn how we relate to others and the world around us i’m interested in practices that sharpen awareness cultivate patience and make space for deeper connection

i love sharing the city through this lens training together wandering neighborhoods cooking meals or simply slowing down in a place that rarely does and yes i’m also down for the occasional late night dancing on sticky floors whether it’s reggaeton or a warehouse full of deep electronic sounds movement takes many forms

i can occasionally host it would be a private room with an air mattress but it also doubles as a shared office and studio space so it’s not always available feel free to ask if it’s open

i get a lot of messages so i tend to respond more intentionally than instantly if you’ve taken the time to share something thoughtful chances are much higher i’ll write back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

couchsurfing has always been a great way for me to meet new people and see the world through someone else’s eyes. i love sharing the city i live in and experiencing new places as a local. there’s something special about connecting with others in a way that allows you to walk in their shoes, even if just for a moment, and that’s what keeps me coming back to couchsurfing. it’s about meaningful connections and experiencing places beyond the surface.

Music, Movies, and Books

when it comes to books, i gravitate toward those that challenge the way we think and inspire growth. i love The Power of Habits and Atomic Habits for their practical approach to transforming behavior, while The Untethered Soul and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F#%$ offer more philosophical perspectives on living with intention. I Will Teach You How to Be Rich and High Performance Habits are about leveling up in all areas of life, and The Alchemist and Becoming remind me of the importance of following our personal journeys. Light on Yoga and The Inner Tradition of Yoga are deep sources of wisdom that tie into my teaching and personal practice.

as for TV, i enjoy a mix of introspective and visually compelling shows like White Lotus and Looking, which explore identity and relationships. The Last of Us captured me with its emotional depth and post-apocalyptic narrative, while Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations remains a favorite, combining travel, food, and genuine human connection in a way that continues to inspire my own adventures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

one amazing thing i’ve done was teach yoga on the highest outdoor overlook in the western hemisphere at the edge in new york city. it was such a surreal experience, practicing in the sky, with the city sprawling beneath me. it felt like the perfect blend of movement and perspective, both literally and metaphorically.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I love sharing movement practices whether it’s yoga, mobility exercises, or just finding small ways to engage with the body. I believe movement is a gateway to deeper understanding, both of ourselves and the world around us. It’s a practice of presence, purpose, and connection.

Learn: I’m always open to new experiences and perspectives. Whether it’s exploring a new activity, diving into a fresh philosophy, or just understanding the nuances of a different culture, I find immense value in learning from others. I see learning as a continual exchange that keeps life rich and dynamic.

Share: I believe in the power of stories, good conversation, and the simple act of connecting with others. I love sharing the things that have shaped me, my experiences, passions, and the joy that comes from moving, exploring, and being present with the world and the people around me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

i can offer a meal whether it’s a simple, home-cooked dish or something a bit more elaborate. i love sharing stories and insights about movement, life, and the city i call home. if you’re into movement, i can guide you through a yoga practice or a mobility session tailored to your needs. if you need stillness or a moment to reset, we can share a meditation practice together. most of all, i offer the ability to hold space for meaningful conversations or simply for quiet moments. whether it’s a deep chat or a calm pause, i’m here to make your stay as enriching as possible.
