About Me

Hello there! I'm a truck driver, currently living a ferry ride from Seattle, in the small-ish town of Port Orchard. Used to be a tour guide in Seattle a few years ago as well.

I've traveled extensively across much of the American northwest, and a good amount in the southwest: Texas and New Mexico hold a special place for me.

As my grandma always says: Life is short, eat dessert first.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to show people my lovely city, and meeting new people in my travels as well!

Interests

I'm into a mix of things, including but not limited to: sports (mainly football and soccer), traveling (duh, or else I wouldn't be here!), and food... especially something local! I also really appreciate live music, which is part of the reason I visit (and usually volunteer at) the Folklife Festival in Seattle every year :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not huge into movies, but I'll usually watch a good animated film, some not-so-crude comedies, and documentaries.

Music tastes range from 90's country to indie-rock, local folk music to Scandinavian pop, and many other things in between.

Books, I read some non-fiction, and some mystery novels and sci-fi as well. If I had to pick one favorite author, it's Jules Verne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked across the US in 2013, and loved it so much I did it twice more that year! It's amazing the diversity of people you meet this way, even in just one state.

Also, seeing the total eclipse in 2017. My new life goal is to see as many as possible! Next one is in Chile and Argentina in 2019 :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a good game of cribbage and/or backgammon (or teach you how to play), share war stories from our previous adventures, and share a generally enjoyable time together. :)

I can also make an amazing blackberry cobbler from a 100+ year old family recipe.
