About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finding excuses to hit different parts of the U S of A for little weekend trips. So many cities I've never been to, or ones I want to revisit! Sometimes I'll see a band playing in a city I've wanted to go to, or I'll just say, "Hey ,what's Tulsa, OK like?" I like getting out of the New York bubble, as some call it :) And of course, what are these little trips without making amazing, serendipitous connections with people who are kind enough to open up their homes?
ABOUT ME
Long Islander formerly living in Philly, but now back in the Big Apple. By day I work at an investment research firm, and by night I'm in grad school for library science! Maybe I'll become a public librarian, maybe an archivist, who knows? Time will tell. In my spare time I love riding my bike around the city, taking longer rides outside of the city, camping, hiking, seeing concerts, going to many, many, bakeries, and I'm trying to light a fire under my butt to get back into darkroom photography.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm trying to live more lightly :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Years ago (2014) I went on a cross-country road trip and had seriously astounding experiences with hosts who let me crash on their couches and showed me around their beloved cities. I'm grateful for that and now I'm finally in a position where I can host others!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been lucky enough to sleep on couches throughout the US and Canada. I really had amazing experiences and got a much richer sense of place by spending my time with local. I'll never forget those who allowed me to stay in their homes.
Interests
I used to be very big into photography, digital and film. Haven't picked up a real camera that wasn't my phone very much in the last few years, but I'm constantly snapping stuff on my phone. I love reading all sorts of books, from fiction to non-fiction to poetry, occasionally. I love riding my bike through NYC and doing some small bike packing/touring trips (NYC to Philly, southern Maine, Philly suburbs). I love walking around cities, often aimlessly, looking at beautiful architecture and people watching.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- Laura Marling, Jonathan Richman, Rufus Wainwright, John Coltrane, Grateful Dead, Nas, so much more!
Movies- Elf! :)
Books- Mostly fiction. Currently reading "To Rise Again at a Decent Hour" by Joshua Ferris and it's hilarious.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been lucky enough to do some backpacking with my dad in Alaska. Took a bush plane 100 miles from nowhere and camped for 5 days. It was incredibly new and enlightening for me. Saw some grizzlies and got to experience a truly "untouched" place. Been back to Alaska a few times since, always blows my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
All three! I don't know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, kindness, flowers for your apartment and I can help fill your beer fridge or your bar cart :)
