Ciao a tutti! (English below)

Mi chiamo Jacopo, ho 30 anni e sono nato e cresciuto a Trento.

Amo viaggiare per conoscere persone nuove, mi intriga soprattutto incontrare chi ha idee ed esperienze diverse dalle mie, per cercare di arricchire il mio bagaglio culturale ottenendo una prospettiva nuova sul modo di vivere la propria vita.

Dopo essermi laureato in Mediazione Linguistica ho iniziato a lavorare svolgendo diversi lavori nel settore turistico, ad esempio in agenzia viaggi o come receptionist in hotel. Mi e' pero' risultato chiaro da subito che quella non era la mia strada. Tutte le mattine mi svegliavo triste e svogliato e soprattutto ero privo di idee, di ambizioni e prospettive future. Era il caso di fare qualcosa: allora ho scelto di licenziarmi e chiedermi finalmente che cosa volessi fare davvero. Ho scoperto passioni che avevo dimenticato di avere e ora sono molto piu' felice e meno stressato.

Ho passato il 2019 in Australia lavorando e viaggiando, sarei dovuto tornare quest'anno ma per via del Covid ho dovuto rimandare.

Ho scelto di rimanere in Italia a lavorare, ma ora, avendo un mese di tempo prima dell'inizio della nuova stagione, mi e' venuta l'idea di andare in giro per l'Italia in bici. PArtiro' da Trento in direzione sud, mi lascero' ispirare durante il viaggio.

Amo il contatto con la natura e percio' ho scelto di pernottare in tenda la maggior parte delle notti, tuttavia mi piacerebbe moltissimo incontrare che di voi vorra' ogni tanto, per scambiare storie e parlare di tutto :)

Hello Surfers!

I am Jacopo, 30 years old, born and raised in a small town called Trento in northern Italy.

I love to travel, meet people with different backgrounds from all over the world, learn from them and hopefully teach something too or just leave a pleasant memory of our encounter :)

After my Bachelor's Degree in Tourism I started working in a full time job and I got stuck in the "9-5 trap". Then 5 years have passed in the blink of an eye, doing the same routine without learning anything new, so I realised that I had to find another way.
I wanted to learn, experience, fail and start again. So I started travelling doing random jobs or volunteering along the way and I am much happier now :)

I have spent last year (2019) working/travelling in Australia and it was amazing. I wanted to go back but due to the Covid situation I had to start other plans.

At the moment (August 2020) I am travelling around Italy with my bicycle, discovering the hidden gems of this beautiful country. I am on a budget, as I like to challenge myself and live in close contact with nature, I will spend most nights in my tent, however I would love to use Couchsurfing every now and then to meet all the amazing people that I am sure this community has.

Interests

I love everything that is related to the outdoors, nature and trekking, especially through-hiking; There are so many trails to do in the world and that's how I like to live my life, whenever I have the time to do it.
I love to travel and get lost, wandering off the beaten path. My awful sense of direction is really useful in these situations :).

I also love psychology and listening to others unique perspective. I love unconventional theories but also to chill out with friends and watch anime/movies/listen to good music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the "poetry" in music and movies, those lyrics or phrases that gives you goosebumps.
I like intricate movies that requires to be watched multiple times. My favorite movie is "Waking life" (so far).

Favourite directors are: Kubrick, Lynch, Linklater

Favourite writers are: Dante Alighieri ("Divina Commedia" is my favorite book, unmatched by any other), Bukowski, Palahniuk, Welsh, Coe, Hesse, Sartre, Goethe, WIlde, Carroll, Moravia, Buzzati... I like reading a lot, especially magic realism writers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working to be a better, healthier version of myself.

I walked from my home in Italy to Portugal.

I participated in a 10 days vipassana silent meditation retreat in Thailand, a really eye-opening experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Italian. Also English and Spanish (to non-native speakers :P) among other things.

I want to learn everything and hopefully teach something.

My dream is to become a writer, I am always ready to get new ideas for my first book, learn something new and teach anything I can :)
