ABOUT ME

loving life! i'm fairly easy going but understandably don't like being pushed around. i'm sarcastic, if you can handle it. given my random assortment of interests, i tend to be pretty adaptable.

although,
i'd rather be hot than cold.
i'd rather be laughing than frowning.

i live for new experiences and adventure, meeting people and eating delicious exotic food. i also just like to hang with old friends, listening to tunes and eating beans and rice ; )

me now! [december, 2010] what a sweet-ass past 2 years!! i'm floating on the wind, and riding the waves. spent a few seasons on the beautiful haven that is salt spring island, BC. farming; hiking; gardening; loving. great friends, great land.

completed a coast to coast to coast north american adventure, spanning 6 months and lots of couches. am out west to housesit and catch my breathe for the winter.

PHILOSOPHY

i have been reflecting on a story a wonderful friend told me:

one day King Solomon brought together all his wisest men and asked them "i need you to find me a phrase that makes me happy when i'm sad and sad when i'm happy."

so they all left him to ponder and then they came back the next day. they gave him a ring and engraved on the inside was the words "this too will change".

i find it extremely motivating. reminds me to savour the awesome moments and to look positively in dark times, as for better or worse, the only guarantee is that this too will change.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

couchsurfers make a great community. i've made connections in places i wouldn't have expected, and learned lots from people i wouldn't have normally interacted with. it opens up so many doors, literally -and- metaphorically!
