Overview
About Me
Slightly eccentric female. Work part-time to keep funding my travels.
I grow herbs and various sub-tropicals vegetable and have 4 chooks.
Yoga, Pilates, walking and gardening are my activities of choice.
When traveling, I love walking around, watching the people and the places. Eating the local foods.
Never come home at night without looking up at the sky. Talk to the moon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hoping to travel for longer, connecting with the people who live in the places I visit.
When I lived in Alice Springs and later in Kakadu National Park and then Darwin, I used to often host travellers I met through my work in tourism or while enjoying the parks and nature around my various homes.
I was a CS host before it existed!
These days, in my sixties, after caring for my mother for several years, and somewhat tired by life and autoimmune illness I find I need to save my energies for growing foods etc in order to optimise my health.
So, while I'm not currently hosting, I have a long history of doing so!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- House sat in Tahiti, looking after 5 cats and 1 German Shepherd.
- Hosting a German couple I met at a campground in the Central Australia. They were camping in Central Australia for long enough so they could get married in Alice Springs. My housemate and I were their witnesses and only guests. They were driven from my home to the church in my friend's vintage silver Riley. Their honeymoon was spent camping in my backyard in their tiny tent!
