ABOUT ME

A very wise person once told me "You can never truly be creative until you are open to anything." I have been striving for this open minded life for awhile now, and I feel like I am ready to experience new things and meet some new interesting people. I am a young artist, photographer, energy healer, and lover.
The world is such an intricate, beautiful place and I want to see it all. I love the concept of couch surfing while traveling. It is a great way to meet new people. The human mind is so beautiful and you can really learn a lot from each person you run across.
I am an environmentally conscious person and do my hardest to lessen the footprint humans are leaving on the earth. I am a vegan, not only for the environmental reasons, but also the nutritional and ethical reasons as well.
Music was my first love, and though I do not play any instruments, I get through my day by the beat of footsteps and the clicking of pens. I hear music everywhere and I love to sing as much as I love to create art. My voice is a big part of who I am. I love to do vocal meditations to soothe my soul.
Bjork, is my favorite musician. I used to say I didn't have a favorite because I liked so many in very different ways, but those who are close to me got irritated and said there is no way I like anything more than Bjork because of how often I listen to her and talk about her. So now, I just say she is my favorite ;) ... Other artists/groups I have adored for quite awhile are Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Broken Social Scene, Fever Ray, The Knife, Andrew Bird, Alt-J. I also love Nobuo Uematsu, the composer who did all of the Final Fantasy music, which is some of the best music ever written. Japanese music in general intrigues me. I really like Cornelius, OOIOO, and Buffalo Daughter, Susumu Yokata. I am a mother as of May 25, 2014 to the most beautiful boy named Theodore and a Wife since October 14, 2013 to Brad, the best husband in the world.

Be Here Now, Not originally mine, but Ram Dass. The only way to live it to be here for it. Your day will only be as good as you let it be.

I have hosted a couple of Couchsurfers and my husband has surfed some couches. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couchsurfer from Belgium an had a really great time. I showed him around downtown Aurora, and engaged in great conversations about food and politics. :) I learned a lot from my experience with him and am looking forward to host more!

兴趣

I am always creating. I love to cook and bake (vegan and gluten free!) I love to spend as much time outdoors as possible, hiking, breathing in fresh air. I love to study abstract forms and find art and beauty within everything.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One day I was with two close friends in Delnor Woods, Saint Charles, IL, and we had been hiking for about an hour and stopped at a creek to rest. My two friends had wandered off down the creek a bit, and I decided to climb up onto the creeks small dam, and stick my feet in the water. I did a short meditation and then had the sudden desire to get up and sprint through the trees a long the creek as fast as I could. When I stopped, I bent over to catch my breath. As I stood back up straight, no more than 3 yards away from me were 2 deer and 3 fawn. They were so beautiful. I slowly sat down in the place I was and continued to make eye contact with them and tried to send peaceful, kind, energies. The next moment 2 huge majestic buck appeared and my heart stopped. I have never seen such a beautiful creature in my life. He looked so strong, yet so soft at the same time. It brought tears to my eyes. I went back and told my friends and we decided to stay where we were in case they came near us again. They sure did! We watched them for at least an hour and that experience will never leave me.

I am knowledgeable about photography, a lot of obscure music, veganism, gluten free baking, and personal freedom. I would like to learn more from an environmentalist who can teach me more about the environment. I am also interested in learning glass blowing, ceramics, sculpting, and physical fitness.
