About Me

Hi there, I'm 25 years old and rubbish at writing about myself. I'm travelling around Australia at the moment. I grew up in greater London, which is a total blast really! I'm use to work in transport and in bars. I love animals and I'm quite homesick for my cats and dogs. I really feel like I shouldn't have to say this, but I'm not as I appear. I've been told by some of the people in the hostel I'm staying in that people will judge me based on my looks and not want to host me in their homes. I really hope that isn't the case, I try my hardest to be the kindest and most gentle soul I can be. But apparently my piercings and hair colour may indicate I'm a totall nutjob- which I'm not. I'm generally quite quiet and polite and tidy. And I suffer from mild social anxiety so I can be slightly awkward and quiet with new people..when I'm comfortable I can be quite chatty and I'm generally up for a laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I am backpacking from the UK and I'm looking for different ways to spend my time across the country. I've been staying in Sydney in an amazing little hostel that feels like home, so moving over to Melbourne with just one little bag of clothes and no plan for a 10 day holiday kind of scares me. I was meant to be meeting up with a friend from the UK in Melbourne but they are no longer able to make it and our accommodation rested on them being there. So I'm at a little bit of a loose end and want to give something other than a hostel a go. I'm interested in meeting people who have made the city they are staying in their home. Or that the city has always been their home. I'm finding that in hostels I'm meeting a lot of tourists and I'm wondering if I'm missing out on another side of the city, so to speak.

Interests

I crochet, read, go to pubs/gigs, I like to cycle and walk around the city for hours exploring. I also really like a good hike :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like sci fi books, if it's got dragons, elves or magic Ill read it. Music is a wide range from Taylor swift to cannibal corpse. And movies are anything from Disney to horror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Booked a one way ticket to Australia, to travel on my own when I don't know a soul here :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can crochet, so I can totally show you the basics of that. Could teach you how to make a scarf :) I'd even part ways with a crochet hook to get you going.

I'm a vegan too, and have been for about 6 years so I make pretty decent vegan dinners and breakfasts and I'm totally down for cooking or teaching to cook a vegan meal. (I have no issues with meat being around me- I just won't eat it..I'm not vegan nazi ;))

While being in the hostels I've been trying to learn some Italian and some German from my fellow hostel guests..so if you can help me with either or want to learn the little I have learnt then I'll happily share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a vegan and I'm more than willing to make us a seriously good vegan dinner :) failing that I'm good for a long random chat :) oh and I could teach you the very basics of how to crochet a scarf..or I can share a drink :D
