Overview
About Me
I'm a travel-loving magazine writer who's decided to give up my schmancy apartment and 9-5 job for a year to travel and work around the world. I'm organised, punctual and super-neat, but at the same time laid-back and pretty drama-free. I love to laugh. I mean, like, snort laugh. I mean tears streaming down your face, can't breathe, probably going to choke on this pizza and die laughing but that's okay because there are worse ways to go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Is there a better way to really get to know a city than to meet up with the people who actually live there? (People who know where they keep the good coffee and the best vibes.)
Also, leaving my job on a whim and not being a trust fund baby means I'm not exactly swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck. In exchange for a bed and a roof over my head, I can offer my undying love and affection, and a place to stay in Cape Town when I make it home.
Interests
Knitting, stamp collecting, necrophilia ... oh you're still here? I like what probably a million 20-somethings like: travel, writing, travel-writing, photography, music, a good drink, live shows, dancing, sunsets, beach vibes, nature, adventure sports, black eyeliner, kitten memes, Buzzfeed lists about Karen Walker, seeing my phone battery on 100%, learning to love yoga, forgetting to do yoga, waking up hungover and wondering if I should change my life and do more yoga...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: that's impossible. I suppose anything from Johnny Cash to Blink to Taxi Violence to Jeremy Loops to Eminem to Postal Service and Imogen Heap and some Bonnie Tyler and ACDC.
Movies: ditto. Everything Wes Andersen. Lord of the Rings but not The Hobbit. Anything with Carey Mulligan. Waterworld was underrated.
Books: I'm an English major, this isn't a fair question.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Donated 1000s of pairs of shoes to kids in Southern Africa on the annual Put Foot Rally.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to teach the world about Cape Town, my magical little city at the tip of Africa. I want to learn what it means to be young and smart and full of life in any other city in the world. I want to share thoughts, life hacks, ice cream spoons and ridiculous experiences that we look back on and say, 'Wow that was probably a really bad idea we're so lucky we didn't die.'
What I Can Share with Hosts
Just me. My personality. My drive to see and know and experience as much as possible in this world. My perspective on life. And maybe some grammar tips...
