About me:

I'm a student at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. I was born and raised in Washington, DC. I've been living here for 8 years. Chicago is pretty awesome, except there is no elevation.

I am a semi-retired professional photographer (i.e. a lazy one). I have a website of my work, but I don't think I can link it here.

I am open-minded, inquisitive and outgoing. Talking to strangers is my speciality! Making people smile and laugh is my daily goal. I believe that through these positive, often brief encounters, do we make a world a better place.

Life is all about experience! I am very much a "stop and smell the flowers" kind of girl. I like to immerse myself into the environment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and travel to awesome places. I want to learn about you and your trips!

I feel a bit landlocked, even with Lake Michigan a few blocks away. I'm starting to travel. I've had wanderlust all of my life and now is the best time to fulfill my dreams.

Interests

Modern art, architecture, photography, social sciences, watching sci-fi/action movies, modeling, Reddit, napping. (I am a professional napper.)

I'm trying to read more. However, my classes require a lot of reading already. I'm working on Albert Camus' The Stranger.

Eating is a big hobby of mine! Unfortunately.

Snacking too. :(

I do yoga every other day. It helps clear my head and it feels great to stretch!

I always visit an art museum and a jazz club when I travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: M83, Daft Punk, Phoenix, Passion Pit, Empire of the Sun, Arcade Fire, Coldplay. I listen to a lot of soundtracks (Phillip Glass, Craig Armstrong, Michael Nyman, John Williams). I also like jazz and classical music.

Movies: The Fountain, Her, A Single Man, Before Sunrise, Tron: Legacy (it has awesome aesthetics and music), Gattaca, Lord of the Rings (2 & 3).

Books: 1984, Dracula, The Kite Runner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I will never forget swimming around the beautiful coral reefs of Koh Phi Phi. I was only about 12 years old or so. My family is from Thailand. I will be visiting them in December.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot of random stuff. Ex. a group of bunnies is a called a "fluffle". Wouldn't it be awesome to see a kerfuffle of fluffles?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a never-ending curiosity of the world. It is what drives me. I'm like a child with never-ending awe.
